First playtests and recent updates

When I had a  very rough prototype,  I already made two semi-public playtests.  So I could see very quickly what players do expect from the game and how the main mechanism "sending random images to a game" would work out. At this point the game was very raw and could barely called "game". But people already had fun with it.

After some updates I made a third playtest with different people again. They also already liked the game and their feedback made me even more clear what are the important next steps in terms of usability. So I directly worked on that.

One of the testers also found out that you can use the text object of the drawing app, to send any emoji of your mobile phone as enemy. That was pretty fun and I will make sure that this "feature" will stay alive ;)

The latest updates of the game include the following:

  • game: fullscreen support
  • game: better handling of image objects
  • game: colorize projectiles of enemies with their own color
  • drawing-app: let images get cropped for more accurate collisions
  • drawing app: save colors of the image separately
  • drawing-app: add tool to let users set an projectile spawn point
  • drawing-app: let users choose an image type
  • drawing-app: set alpha color to black and use different starter colors
  • darwing-app: automatically deselect text object, when image is send

Maybe I will post next what is on my road map for the game and might announce some playtests.
See ya soon.

Cheers,
Till
